Leading U.S. Energy Provider Deepens Partnership with RSC Equipment Rental

Scottsdale, Ariz. - September 30, 2009 - RSC Equipment Rental (www.RSCrental.com), one of North America’s largest rental companies, today announced the signing of a three-year contract with Southern Company, a leading U.S. producer of electricity serving 4.4 million customers. RSC supplies a range of aerial and earth moving equipment for maintenance at 17 generating plants.

RSC won the competitive bid due to a commitment to safety, equipment that is better than 98% current on manufacturer suggested preventive maintenance, and access to 24/7 Customer Care for equipment needs day or night. RSC also shares Southern Company’s dedication to reducing impact on the environment. Actions taken include a younger equipment fleet which reduces emissions by half, a 20% reduction in engine idle time, and a reduction in paper consumption by introducing electronic ordering, delivery and billing systems.
